Crap Happens

About a week and a half before Isaac was born I was at Target with Ashley and I was suppose to be buying some last minute baby items. I did in fact buy those last minute baby items but I also managed to get sidetracked (surprise, surprise) in the home section of Target which happened to be having a huge clearance sale on some bedding. It just so happened that I had been looking for the last year or so for some new bedding to change things up a bit but I had a teensy weensy budget to work with. The plan was to buy a new comforter - something solid and plain - and sew pillows and curtains to go with it, that way it would be cheaper and I got to be creative with the sewing machine. Anyway, I ended up buying a new comforter with shams, a quilt, and a throw pillow. What should have cost me about $200 cost only $47 and some change. I. Love. Target. Period.

I waited until after I got home to call Spencer on his lunch break to make sure I did something okay haha. I figured if I waited until I was home he'd be more likely to want to keep it since it was already here. ;) Turns out he was fine with it anyway since he knew I'd been searching for a while now. Full of excitement, I opened up my new purchases and remade my bed to see how great it was. Doesn't it look awesome? My room is so pretty! I'm still planning on sewing a few more pillows and some new curtains but that can wait for a while. Take a moment to enjoy these pictures...

I know that most of you by now are wondering why I am bothering to share my new bedding with you because really, I know you don't care. But just barely over a week after I got this, I got one of these...

I know. So adorable. I love him to death. But he has a real problem. He really REALLY likes to poop or pee while changing his diaper. The pee is no big deal. It's sterile. And it cleans up easy. But what I really hate is the poop. And this kid poops A LOT. I had no idea that a kid could poop this much, and I thought Ashley pooped a lot. But the poop isn't the whole problem. The whole problem is that no only does he poop, but she SHOOTS poop. Yes. Like a cannon. In a way I'm glad I wasn't in the room to witness how this happened, but what you are about to see may scare you. (And if you have a weak stomach, do not continue on.) Spencer claims that he was blocking the poop, but as you will see, it just wasn't enough. This is amazing. And yet, I hope it never happens again...

... Right onto my new bedding. From several feet away. And you can't even see all the splatter marks. Yep, crap happens. :)

Oh no!! Can you get it out?! That is so sad... but I guess it's just one of those things you have happen when you have kids. I just love his little scrunched up face! Hope that you are doing well.

Ha ha ha ha! I cannot stop laughing! What a crazy poop shooting machine! It was Spencer that taught him that, right? ;) I hope it all comes out of your pretty new bedding easily.

1. Barfing!! I was warned so it's my own fault. =)

2. I'm so jealous of the new bedding. Someday I hope to get an extra few bucks to do the same.

3. It's so hard not to laugh at the situation when it comes out of something so little and adorable.

This is the funniest thing I have read all week (not to laugh at your homemaking pain, or anything). Man, that boy can poop! 'At a boy, Isaac!

AW!! So sad to hear about the new bed spread, but I had to tell you that I just saw little Isaac's pictures for the first time and he is ADORABLE! :D I am glad to see that the two of you are doing well! My husband was showing me an LDS video the other day and I kept thinking, "I remember watching this video before and seeing someone I know in it.." but as the video went on I just kept saying to myself "..nnnoooo.... don't know himm.. don't know her.." and then it came to the scene with the entire Grimm family in your living room and I was like "AH!! That's where it was!!" =D haha.. I couldn't remember at first, but was pleasantly surprised when I finally was reminded. :)Haha Anyway, look forward to seeing more future updates as the Babe grows!! :)

Oh my goodness! I've had my share of poop blowouts but nothing quite like that (from feet away, and all other your new bedding!!). So I have to ask, did you manage to get the stain out? (I use to use that yellow bar soap for baby poop. But I've heard good things about oxi-clean, and just regular old detergent with pre-treating and several washes.)

Haha I'm glad you're all so concerned with my new bedding! :) I did manage to get the stains out! I make my own laundry detergent and so I had some Zote and Fels-Naptha on hand (bar soap for laundry) and between that and a lot of scrubbing under the faucet in the bathtub in all came out! :)
